Our Song Will Never Die

When we started out it was almost on a dare

You didn’t seem to notice me – I didn’t think you’d care (for me)

The way that I have grown for you from that moment until now

I couldn’t see a song in me for you – I hear it now

I admit you didn’t dazzle me, except with those brown eyes

That stared or glared or startled me with found love’s new surprise

But, then you finally realized exactly who I was

And putting all of that aside you’d still marry me because

            Our song will never die

And though the years have tried to tear

            Two kindred hearts apart

            Our song will never die

It keeps us looking forward to each day

Where each of us go on and on

But, side by side in love

            Our love will never die
