When you love someone

old things are wonderfully nostalgic

bringing back fond memories

that endear the present to the past

melding the two as one

Differences become the lines that put the puzzle together

Yes, the sky and everything under it

Connects with your soul

Like a well-dressed lady under a Sunday hat

Those places you go to today,

That you avoided yesterday,

Seem changed; endurable, challenging,

welcomed

Everyone is your brother and sister

With long ago forgotten trespasses

And, most wonderful of all,

Things that should not have mattered anyway,

but did, don’t anymore

Admit it, when you love someone

their breath is sweetly memorable

their body scent always sensual

your words filled with praise

Loving someone is a real miracle

misconceptions of presupposed responses disappear

anxiety ceases, longing is fulfilled

lust vanishes and the begging heart lays down

pressure comes to grips with love and loses
